User Onboarding for Webflow
BreakGround installs on any Webflow site via a snippet added through Project Settings → Custom Code → Head Code. No Webflow app, no Webflow CMS workaround — just a script tag.
Webflow's Custom Code section accepts head and footer scripts on any project plan. BreakGround works in the Designer (interactions still preview correctly) and on the published site. Webflow's own page transitions are detected automatically. Webflow CMS pages are fully supported because BreakGround targets rendered DOM, not CMS schema. Webflow Memberships passes the logged-in user object that BreakGround can use for segmentation.
How to set up
- Add to Project Settings → Custom Code → Head Code: Open your Webflow project, go to Project Settings, find the Custom Code tab, and paste the snippet into Head Code.
- Identify users from Webflow Memberships: If you use Webflow Memberships, pass the user object to BreakGround for segment-aware guides.
- Author guides from your live URL: Open BreakGround, paste your published Webflow URL, and AI generates the first onboarding guide.
Capabilities
- Works on every Webflow plan: Site, Workspace, and Enterprise plans all support Custom Code — BreakGround installs identically on all of them.
- CMS pages supported: Guides work on dynamic Webflow CMS pages like blog posts, product pages, and case studies.
- Webflow Memberships compatible: Passes user data through to BreakGround for member-segmented guides and content gates.
- Designer + Published: Test guides on the published site without breaking Webflow's Designer preview.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a paid Webflow plan to install BreakGround?
Custom Code is available on Site, Workspace, and Enterprise plans. The Free plan does not allow Custom Code, so BreakGround requires at least a Site plan to install.
Will BreakGround break my Webflow interactions?
No. BreakGround layers on top of the rendered DOM and doesn't interfere with Webflow's interactions or page transitions. Both can run simultaneously.
Does the integration affect pricing?
No. BreakGround prices on monthly active users (MAU), not by framework, integration, or site count. The integration is the same on every plan — including the free tier.
