User Onboarding for B2B Platforms

Onboarding for B2B platforms — multi-tenant, role-aware, enterprise-ready.

B2B platforms onboard organizations, not individuals. Different roles within the same customer need different onboarding paths; enterprise customers need enterprise controls; rollouts often span weeks across the buyer's team. BreakGround supports the multi-user, multi-role, multi-tenant patterns that B2B platforms require.

Challenges

  • One product, many roles: Admins set up the platform, managers configure workflows, end users do the daily work. Three roles, three onboarding paths — and the same generic tour fails all three.
  • Multi-user rollouts: An enterprise customer onboards 50 users over a quarter. Each user lands at a different point in the rollout cycle. Onboarding has to adapt to where each user actually is.
  • Enterprise gating before getting started: Procurement, security review, and integration setup all happen before users even see the product. By the time onboarding begins, customer momentum has cooled.

How BreakGround helps

  • Role-based onboarding: Different guides for admins, managers, and end users — driven by role at sign-in.
  • Employee onboarding for internal tools: If your B2B platform is itself an internal tool, onboarding the workforce of customer organizations is part of the product.
  • Feature adoption across customer cohorts: When you ship a new feature, target the segments most likely to benefit — by plan, by role, by behavior.

Frequently asked questions

Does BreakGround support SSO?

Yes. SAML and OIDC SSO are included from the Pro plan ($249/mo) onwards. There's no separate SSO add-on cost — it's part of the standard tier.

Can I show different guides to different customer organizations?

Yes. Audience targeting can use any custom attribute you pass at identification — workspace ID, plan tier, customer segment, role, behavior. Each segment can see a different guide, tooltip set, or announcement.

Where is data stored?

BreakGround stores engagement data in regional cloud infrastructure with TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest. EU data residency is available on Pro and Enterprise plans. Detailed security and DPA documentation is on the Security and DPA pages.
